Unbabel was born out of the realization that while machine translation technology had made significant strides, it often fell short in terms of accuracy and cultural nuances. The founders, Vasco Pedro, João Graça, Hugo Silva, and Bruno Silva, saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by combining AI with professional human translators. The initial idea was to create a platform that leverages the strengths of both to provide superior translation services.
